We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Freelance 3rd Engineer to join our team on a temporary basis, assisting in maintaining the high standards of operation and safety on board. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, preferably with experience on similar-sized yachts.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations: Support the Chief Engineer in managing and maintaining engineering systems, including propulsion, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance to optimize vessel performance.
Repairs and Troubleshooting: Actively participate in troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment as necessary.
Organization and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized engine room and adhere to safety regulations and yacht protocols.
Qualifications
Certification: STCW certification and maritime qualifications relevant to this role.
Experience: At least 2+ years as a 2nd Engineer on commercial vessels; yacht experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of marine engineering systems and excellent troubleshooting skills.
Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Documentation: Must hold a valid passport and be eligible to work in the U.S.
Age Requirement: 24-35 years old
Licenses
Required: Second Engineer Unlimited License or EOOW (Engineering Officer of the Watch) 3rd Class Engineer.
Preferred Background
Candidates from commercial shipping backgrounds with the necessary certifications are welcome.
Nationality
This role is open to Ukrainian passport holders only.
