SEAFARER’S EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
We offer an international ITF Seafarer’s Employment Agreement, based on the conditions of an ITF Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
UNION
The daily work on board, including the embarkation and disembarkation process, and the responsibilities of the Seafarer and Employer, should be reflected in a general Collective Bargaining Agreement, based on the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) organization. This Collective Bargaining Agreement is internationally recognized and helps both parties to fulfil the requirements of the Seafarer‘s Employment Agreement.
PERSONAL PROTECTON EQUIPMENT
All Seafarers who are approaching the vessel are equipped with seasonal Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) by United Lloyd or the Principal, either before arrival or upon arrival onboard.
INSURANCE & HEALTHCARE
All Seafarers on board are protected against injury, sickness, accidents, disability and death in relation to the ITF/CBA.
Independently, the required additional MLC Financial Securities are covered by the Principal’s P&I Club and are displayed on board of the vessels.
WELFARE
We work together with the Managing Owner of the ship to create a pleasant environment for our Seafarers, for example, by making free Wi-Fi available on board.
COMPLAINTS
In addition to the officially implemented complaint procedure in accordance to MLC, the Seafarer can contact us at any time in case of person private affairs. These affairs can be discussed in a safe environment, without interference of the any third parties.
FLAG STATE
As recognized filing agent for the flag state, we submit all necessary documentation and national certificates in order to arrange a proper application to the mentioned flag states for and on behalf of the Seafarer in a safe manner.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
We work with travel agencies to organize all the transportation for Seafarers from their home to the port of destination, and of course back home again, in an efficient and timely manner.
PRE-BOARDING BRIEFING
You will receive a pre-boarding briefing in relation to the Safety Management System (SMS Manual) from the Principal of the vessel where all necessary details are discussed, including Seafarer`s Employment Agreement and other related important information/documentation, e. g. travel arrangements, job description, flag state endorsements if already available etc.
In addition, we provide our Seafarer’s with a password to our download center, in which all general important details of your contract are uploaded and further details from the Principal can be downloaded.
ARRIVAL ON BOARD
After arrival on board our Seafarers undergo a Briefing & Familiarization process by Ship`s Command. The shipboard familiarization plays a key-role in implementing the safety system aboard a vessel. The shipboard familiarization shall be carried out before the designated crew member is assigned to those duties.
