EOOW (Engineering Officer of the Watch) 3rd Class Engineer
Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years in an engineering role onboard commercial vessels
Experience with yachts of similar size preferred, but not mandatory
Nationality: Ukrainian passport holders only
Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, generators, water makers, HVAC units, and auxiliary equipment
Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues
Background: Open to candidates from commercial shipping backgrounds, provided they meet the relevant certification requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Operations: Assist the Chief Engineer in managing daily engine room operations and monitoring mechanical and electrical systems onboard
Preventive Maintenance: Regular maintenance and upkeep of machinery, including engines, generators, HVAC systems, and electrical systems
System Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues with propulsion and auxiliary systems, electronic controls, and other equipment
Logbook Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and system checks
Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to engineering-related emergencies and collaborate with the Chief Engineer and crew
Spare Parts Management: Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables, and assist in sourcing replacement parts when needed
Safety Compliance: Ensure all onboard systems comply with safety regulations and maritime laws
This role is ideal for a 3rd Engineer with a strong engineering background, ready to work in a dynamic, busy charter yacht environment in the Mediterranean.
