The JR. Galley Utility is responsible for:

Dishwashing and Cleaning:

Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring efficient cleaning of all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment;

Clean and sanitize all galley areas, including floors, countertops, and food preparation surfaces.

Waste Management:

Properly dispose of food waste and garbage, adhering to waste management protocols;

Ensure waste bins are regularly emptied and cleaned.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Always follow food safety and hygiene regulations;

Adhere to sanitation procedures and guidelines set by the Galley Steward;

Report any malfunctioning cleaning equipment to the Galley Steward;

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of cleaning tools and equipment.

Inventory Management:

Monitor sanitation supplies inventory, such as cleaning agents and detergents;

Collaborate with the Galley Steward to order supplies as needed.

Support to Galley Team:

Assist galley staff as needed during peak hours, such as helping with dishwashing during busy meal services.

Requirements

Previous experience in kitchen cleaning, sanitation, or utility work in a food service setting;

Proficiency in English any additional languages are a plus;

Ability to lift, up to 25 kilograms;

Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food safety regulations;

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene;

Physical fitness and health suitable for demanding duties in the galleys;

Perform other duties as assigned by the respective department head or ship management.
