As a member of the Security Team, you are responsible for carrying out your security duties as directed by the Security Officer under the ISPS Code. You are also instrumental in the effort to maintain social cohesion on board, whether in passenger areas, or crew accommodation and recreation spaces. A firm and fair attitude will be always required, and you will be expected to exercise discretion, and occasionally diplomacy, as different situations demand.



Your particular areas of responsibility will include:

General: - It is expected that you will be familiar with the various items of security equipment on board. Should there be anything with which you feel unfamiliar, you should contact the Security Officer and he will train you accordingly.

In port: - You are in charge of the gangway and open side shell door security, and as such, for the identification verification of persons boarding, or attempting to board the ship.

You must become familiar with all the Security equipment held on-board.
