Duties and Responsibilities:

To assist the Chief Housekeeper in overseeing the daily Housekeeping operation, cleaning procedures and maintenance of all guest areas including staterooms, laundries, public areas and crew areas;

To train, coach, counsel and support the housekeeping department staff;

To schedule, conduct and log all departmental training for Housekeeping Stewards, Housekeeping Utilities, Laundry Master, Laundry Man and Tailor;

To guide the Housekeeping Stewards, Housekeeping Utilities, Laundry Master, Laundry Man and Tailor to ensure that the entire housekeeping department is always updated with relevant shipboard information;

To ensure that the Housekeeping Stewards follow up on inspections as per policy;

To do inspections as per policy and to follow up accordingly to ensure proper cleaning procedures and maintenance of all guest areas;

To assist the Chief Housekeeper in preparing performance appraisals for the housekeeping


department staff;

To conduct inventories of all housekeeping lockers on a regular basis and to ensure that they are all kept neat and tidy and in accordance with safety rules and regulations;

To oversee all guest laundry procedures and to ensure that guests’ belongings are logged, washed and delivered back in a timely manner;

To deal with any maintenance issues which may arise in guest areas, to report and follow up on the work orders in a timely manner;

To ensure that all uniforms and shoes on board are maintained in good condition and assist Chief Housekeeper with placing timely orders;

To order, check and receive all material deliveries onboard;

To record observations and assess performance to agree upon standards of cleanliness and upkeep;

To ensure that supplies are maintained to safeguard against waste;

To conduct regular inventories of supplies;

To offer all possible assistance to guests. Takes corrective actions on suggestion/complaints and strives for early guest recovery;

To report any loss or damage to furniture, fixtures or equipment, maintenance deficiencies that require immediate attention and follow-up on their status. Escalates issues as necessary;

To collaborate with Housekeeping and other related teams to ensure effective problem resolution and maximum guest satisfaction;

To conduct daily briefings with subordinated staff to instruct them on follow up and special projects;

To assist the Chief Housekeeper in monitoring the fast and smooth luggage handling process during collection and delivery from/to guest staterooms;

To ensure master keys issuance and return is being recorded at the end of each shift;

To oversee that the housekeeping department staff adheres to all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives;

Other responsibilities, as assigned, but not limited to the above.





Requirements

Hospitality Experience: Minimum of 3 Years proven track record in housekeeping or related roles within the maritime or hospitality industry, demonstrating expertise in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction;

Language Proficiency: Proficient in English, additional languages are advantageous, contributing to effective communication with diverse passengers and crew members;

Physical Fitness: Excellent physical health and stamina, capable of undertaking demanding duties inherent to housekeeping responsibilities on board;

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to upholding cleanliness and presentation standards in guest cabins and public areas;

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, showcasing the ability to guide and manage housekeeping staff to achieve excellence in their responsibilities;

Customer Service Orientation: A customer-centric approach with a focus on providing exceptional service to guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their stay;

Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities to coordinate and manage housekeeping operations efficiently, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests;
