Main responsibilities:
The First Refrigeration Engineer is responsible for:
Supervising the members of his team and ensuring that all maintenance and repair work are carried out in a professional manner;
HVAC and refrigeration section of the AMOS System maintenance and spare part program. Ensuring that logging of maintenance and spare parts are up to-date;
Conducting regular inspections of HVAC/R section of the ship ensuring high standards of cleanliness and upkeep;
Inspecting the cleanliness and safety of galley, laundry and launderettes exhaust ducts and ensuring that all required and necessary cleaning routines and records are properly executed;
Ensuring that systems are in compliance with rules and regulations. Failures and malfunction to be reported to Chief Engineer.
Coordinating with contractors for maintenance work and servicing in his area of responsibility;
Planning and preparing for Dry dock in liaison with the Chief Engineer and Vessel Manager;
Monitoring the consumption of refrigerants and oil closely. Reporting immediately if an irregular situation should occur;
Maintaining the Refrigerant Gas and Oil Log book;
Executing maintenance requests in his area of responsibility from all departments.
informing Chief Engineer and Vessel Manager if any update of HVAC/R drawings is needed;
Preparing Purchase Requisition;
Receiving deliveries;
Signing and verifying time sheets for outside contractors in his area of responsibility;
Maintaining professional relationships across all functions, while promoting a positive and harassment-free work environment that welcomes and respects differences in cultures, backgrounds, and individual personalities
