The 2nd Reefer Engineer is responsible for:
· Supporting the First Refrigeration Engineer in carrying out the maintenance, repair, and operation of all refrigeration and HVAC systems on the vessel ensuring the safety, comfort, and efficiency of the ship's refrigeration equipment.
· Carry out maintenance requests as required on all HVAC equipment related to Hotel and Crew accommodation. Monitor and follow up on maintenance requests from OTALIO.
· Maintenance and repairs of chilled water pipelines.
· Maintenance, inspection and cleanliness of fan rooms, intakes, ducts, grids, drains.
· Technical maintenance including cold rooms, blast chillers, undercounter fridges etc.
· Shall personally inspect the cleanliness and safety of galley, laundry and launderettes exhaust ducts and ensure that all required and necessary cleaning routines and records are properly executed.
· Shall report to/inform the 1st Reefer Engineer of any irregularity observed / discovered in his area of work.
· Under no circumstances shall any modification or project be carried out without the consent of the Chief Engineer.
· Coordinate with contractors for maintenance work and servicing in his area of responsibility.
· Monitor the consumption of refrigerants closely and report immediately if an irregular situation should occur.
· Adhere and comply with all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives. Accordance with Company Regulations and Policies.
· Supervising the AC Technician and ensure that all maintenance and repair work are carried out in a professional manner.
· Monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all refrigeration and air conditioning systems across various areas of the ship including cabins, kitchens, public spaces, and technical areas as directed by the First Refrigeration Engineer
· Conducting regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards as directed by the First Refrigeration Engineer
